A Conversation With Dr. King:

Wonder What Dr. King Would Say To Black America Today

Today a series of events altered the hub I would write next. Yesterday I did research to find a list of the top one hundred speeches of the twentieth century. Number one on that list,” I Have A Dream”, I thought interesting. Today a series of events bought me to view a picture of a young Doctor King and the founding Pastor of the church the days events have left me bewildered.I have encountered African Americans that have risen to great heights because of the struggle and beliefs of the great Dr.King I was and awe to be and a building in which Dr, King had stood in the pulpit.

Dr. King I have a question I wish you could answer with the dream coming full circle and African American President at a time when not only American’s but the world future lies and the hand of and African America would you be praising us for how far we come or where did we get lost.Dr. King would you be ok with our young men; the dons of rap addressing our young ladies as bitches and hoes. These are words that curl ears but these dons have the praise of a large number of our young black females. A drug name crack has crippled our neighbors from the cradle to the grave. The majority of our young black males will be in prison or dead by age twenty five.

That the majority of our black family have only one parent a mother, that a great deal of our black man have come out of the closet and profess to be on the down low. That the alarm of black deaths today are black on black crime another black man will be more likely to kill a black man than a Klan’s man.

My though is Dr. King  would  cry out for black America to return to the church in open the hymnal and sang once again we can overcome. We can over come our young women being label bitches and hoes, Budweiser please do not advertise and our neighborhood would we have sit ends on the corner store fighting against the sale of crack.I believe you would appeal to white America to give us a chance to save our children before you lock them up or kill them. Dr King parents who correct their children are call abuser and the same cops that haul parents to jail for abuse shoot our kids and the back for the crimes they commit from lack of discipline, but it is not the fault of the cop it the disappearance of solid black male figures.

Dr King your dream was exchanged for money and explitation and for false hope and false fame.Dr King,  we hope for the birth of a new dream; the dream to regain our self worth and to reclaim our children and our neighbor hoods. Can we dream again Black America ?
